TECT offers the following academic programs of study:
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY (PASTORAL STUDIES)
This is a three or four-year program designed to develop skills in individuals for Bible exegesis, theology, preaching, evangelism, counseling and church administration. It offers an ideal preparation for church ministries to pursue advanced theological training.
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY (CHRISTIAN EDUCATION)
This is a three or four-year program designed to equip individuals for a theologically informed and skillfully practiced vocation as Christian education specialists in congregations, schools and church-related organizations. It helps to prepare its graduates to assume positions as ministers of Christian education, youth, adults, children’s workers, school teachers and administrators, camp leaders or para-church youth leaders.
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY (MISSIONS)
This is a three or four-year course of study designed to prepare persons for the mission of the church so that they can provide advanced leadership in breaking new grounds for church planting, evangelism, cross-cultural ministries and to generally advance the cause of the Gospel among all nations.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN ADULT EDUCATION
This is a three or four-year course of study designed to prepare persons for ministry or secular work among the adult constituency. Students’ specialize in the various challenges and opportunities that may arise in working with African adults in the contemporary evangelical church and Sierra Leone and beyond.
BACHELOR OF ARTS (COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STUDIES)
This is a three or four-year degree program intended to equip the learner with the basic theory and practice involved in development education as it relates specifically to the third world. The program is organized within the framework of clear biblical principles meant to equip the student with both academic and spiritual virtues for effective employment.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES
This is a three to four year program designed to provide basic professional training and knowledge in the discipline of Peace and Development studies that stimulate critical thinking in students to enable them develop scholarly, biblical and practical approach to the field of Peace and Development studies.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a bachelor's degree in business administration. The degree is conferred after four years of full-time study in one or two areas of business concentrations - Human Resource Management and Marketing. The program usually includes general business courses and a variety of core subjects that allow students to specialize in their specific academic concentrations.
DIPLOMA IN THEOLOGY
This is a two or three-year post-secondary level course of study which is designed to introduce persons to the broad field of biblical, theological, pastoral and practical ministries study. It equips persons with basic skills necessary to communicate biblical truths effectively, provide sound leadership in worship, witness and service to the community.
NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STUDIES, PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES, AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Evangelical College of Theology also runs National Diploma programs in Community Development Studies, Peace and Development Studies and Business Administration to cater for the middle level man-power Sierra Leone. These programs are accredited by the National Council for Technical, Vocational and other Academic Awards (NCTVA). They are two-year programs targeting students without the requirements to pursue a degree course but have the academic potential and qualification to pursue courses at diploma level.
DIPLOMA IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
The Diploma in Christian Ministries (DCM) is a two-year program intended for students who have the desire to pursue some form theological studies but may not have the time, resources and/or academic qualifications to pursue higher programs. Classes are organized on weekends in order to cater for workers whose interest is in the study of the course.
