The Evangelical College of Theology has formal relations with the accrediting Council for Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) and is a founding member of the ACTEA Commission for Theological Colleges. In July 1990 TECT was granted Registered Candidate Status in its pursuit for full post secondary accreditation for its degree and diploma programs under “ACTEA Standards and Procedures.” The college received full accreditation from ACTEA in June 1996. In April 1997, the academic programs of TECT were accredited by the University of Sierra Leone and recognized by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology in Sierra Leone.
The college is also registered with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) of Sierra Leone. A body that regulates all tertiary education in the country.
